Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
ConnectCZ is a service operated by Connectcz Platforms Inc. (“ConnectCZ”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.
Contents
1. What we collect
Information you give us
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Phone number (used to sign in and verify your account), email address, and a username. |
| Profile | Name, profile photo, date of birth, gender and pronouns, and anything optional you choose to add — a short bio, interests, languages, profession, education. |
| Content | The invitations you post, comments, answers to join questions, photos you add to a plan, and messages you send in an invitation chat. |
| Support | What you send us by email or through the contact form on this website. |
Information we collect as you use ConnectCZ
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Location | Your approximate location, so we can show you invitations near you and show yours to people near you. See section 6. |
| Usage | Which invitations you view or join, who you follow, and when you were last active — used to build your feed and your notifications. |
| Device and identifiers | A push notification token, so we can send you notifications; the account identifier we use to recognise you across your devices; and basic technical information such as IP address, device model and app version. |
| Diagnostics | Crash reports, error logs and performance measurements, so we can find and fix what is broken. |
| Safety | Reports and blocks you make or that are made about you, and signals we use to judge whether an account is trustworthy. |
| Subscriptions | If you subscribe to Premium, a record of your subscription status. Payment card details are handled by Apple, Google or our payment processor — we never see or store them. |
2. How we use it
- To run the service: show you relevant invitations, let you post and join them, and deliver messages and notifications.
- To keep the service safe: verify accounts, enforce our terms, investigate reports, and act on abuse.
- To support you: answer your questions and fix problems you tell us about.
- To improve ConnectCZ: understand in aggregate what works and what does not, and diagnose crashes and performance problems.
- To show ads, which is part of how we keep ConnectCZ free — see section 3.
- To meet legal obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.
3. Advertising
ConnectCZ shows occasional ads through Google AdMob. They are rewarded ads: you can watch a short optional ad to carry on with certain things in the app. A Premium subscription removes ads entirely.
The ads are not personalised. They are not chosen using your profile, your interests, your location, the invitations you look at, or who you follow. Everyone who sees an ad in ConnectCZ is being shown it on the same non-personalised basis.
Concretely, that means:
- We do not ask for permission to track you, because we do not track you. You will not see Apple’s “Allow ConnectCZ to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites?” prompt.
- We do not access or use your device’s advertising identifier — the IDFA on iOS, or its equivalent on Android.
- We do not combine what we know about you with data about you from other companies.
- We do not follow you across other apps or websites, and we do not let anyone else do it through ConnectCZ.
To put an ad on your screen, Google AdMob receives device-level information from your device, such as your device type and operating system, your IP address, and technical details about the ad slot itself. It does not receive your ConnectCZ profile, your invitations, your messages, or the location saved on your profile. Google uses that information as a provider of the ad service, under its own terms.
When we advertise ConnectCZ elsewhere, we measure whether an ad led to an install using Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which is built to report that in aggregate without identifying anyone. No user-level identifier is involved.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers. If we ever change how advertising works in ConnectCZ — including introducing personalised ads — we will update this policy, tell you before it takes effect, and give you whatever choice the law where you live entitles you to.
4. What other people can see
ConnectCZ is a social service, so some of what you provide is visible by design:
- Your name, username, profile photo and anything you put in your profile are visible to other members.
- An invitation is visible according to the reach you chose for it: nearby (people in your area), followers (people who follow you), or private (only the people you invited).
- An invitation posted to a space is visible only to members of that space.
- Messages in an invitation chat are visible to the people in that plan.
Please treat anything you post as something the people who can see it may repeat. Do not put your home address, financial details or identity documents in an invitation, a profile or a chat.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us under contract.
They may only use what we give them to provide their service to us. They are:
- Amazon Web Services — cloud hosting and file storage.
- Google Firebase — sign-in and authentication, push notifications, real-time database, analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring.
- Google AdMob — serving the ads described in section 3.
- Google Maps and Google Geocoding — searching for places and showing them on a map.
- RevenueCat — managing Premium subscriptions.
- Apple and Google — processing payments for in-app purchases. We never see or store your card details.
- Stripe — processing subscription payments for business customers who run a place on ConnectCZ. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- An email delivery provider, for the mail we send you.
- Other members, as described in section 4.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent serious harm.
- A successor, if ConnectCZ is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers. The one advertising company we share anything with is Google AdMob, and only the device-level information it needs to put a non-personalised ad on your screen — see section 3.
6. Location
Location is what makes ConnectCZ work — without it we cannot tell what is near enough to be worth showing you.
- We ask for your location once, when you create your account, using the standard “while using the app” permission. You can refuse, and you can withdraw the permission later in your device settings.
- We save that location on your profile and use it to show you invitations near you and show yours to people near you. You can change it yourself at any time in your profile settings.
- We do not collect your location in the background, and we do not build a history of where you have been.
- We never use your location to choose ads.
- Other members see the general area of an invitation and whatever meeting place you choose to write. They do not see your device’s position.
- If you turn location off, you can still use ConnectCZ, but nearby invitations will not work well.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and content stop being visible to other people immediately, and we delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal information within 30 days — except where we have to keep something longer, for example transaction records we are required to retain for tax purposes, or records of a safety report we need in order to stop a banned person coming back.
Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live — including under Canada’s PIPEDA, the UK and EU GDPR, and various US state privacy laws — you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your account and your personal information;
- object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
- withdraw consent you have given, such as location or notification permissions;
- complain to your data protection authority.
Most of this you can do yourself in the app: edit your profile, change permissions, or delete your account from your settings. For anything else, email privacy@connectcz.com and we will respond within the time your local law requires. We will not charge you or treat you differently for exercising these rights.
9. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit who on our side can see what, and infrastructure run in secured cloud environments. No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10. Where your data is held
ConnectCZ is operated from the United States and our infrastructure runs in the United States. If you use ConnectCZ from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
11. Children
ConnectCZ is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we delete the account and the information. See our CSAE standards for how we handle child safety, and contact support@connectcz.com if you believe a minor is using the service.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
